Tour de Westfield this past weekend was an amazing event. I could not be more pleased with how this event has turned out. For my first campaign, I wanted to meet my Ward 4 neighbors and also introduce them to me in an authentic way. I hosted several "Two Around Tamaques" meet and greets. This was the spark for what has morphed into the amazing Tour de Westfield event.
This event could not take place without the hard work and dedication of many people. Special thanks to Liz Chacko and the planning committee, members of the Bike board, Green Team, Recreation Commission and Department, and BRAKES. The DPW and Westfield Police Department helped to plan and execute a flawless day. Further thanks to the Fire Department, the NICA team, the Westfield Memorial library, Reves Smoothie cafe and all of the MANY volunteers that came out to help make this amazing day possible. Tuesday's pride flag raising was a fantastic event. The flag raising serves as a visual reminder of Westfield’s commitment to acceptance and support for the LGBTQ+ community. I'm proud to be part of an administration that is committed to equality and diversity, and works to promote a more inclusive and accepting Westfield for all residents.

Westfield and our surrounding communities have seen a recent uptick in criminal activity – specifically in burglarized and stolen cars, and now burglaries of several homes and businesses. These acts are indicative of a statewide problem. I've attached a link to Chief Battiloro's statement about what Westfield is doing about this serious issue.
