Scott Katz Westfield Ward 1

First I would like to take a moment to congratulate all of the students that graduated this past week. From Kindergarten to High School Seniors, this past week was a very special one for the many families marking these milestones.  Best of luck in particular to the WHS Seniors who will now go out to make their mark on the world.

The MLK Association of Westfield's Juneteenth celebration was a fantastic event. I highly recommend taking the trolley tour and seeing the many, many stops highlighting the path of African Americans in Westfield.

As the Council Liaison to the Westfield Memorial Library, I am thrilled that our library has a curated collection of books that delve into the rich and diverse tapestry of African American history, culture, and achievements.  From compelling biographies to thought-provoking novels, these books provide invaluable insights and shed light on the triumphs, struggles, and resilience of African Americans.

I encourage you to take advantage of our collection, whether you're interested in the civil rights movement, the Harlem Renaissance, or the countless stories of African American trailblazers, our library has a treasure trove of resources waiting to be discovered.

Finally, summer is here. As Chair of the Recreation Commission, I am so excited by the many programs offered for all ages. Please follow the link for the catalog.

Always wishing you the best,

Scott Katz
